Macelleria Angelo Feroci
In the Sant'Eustachio neighborhood of Rome, just steps away from the Pantheon, is Macelleria Angelo Feroci. To call it a butcher shop would be wrong, I don't know how to describe it, I've never seen anything like it really. It's a small shop over a hundred years old made completely of marble and glass. Their front window is stacked with ready made meals to take home and cook, that concept might make you think of upscale supermarkets but Angelo Feroci is of a much higher quality of technique and craftsmanship.
Frustratingly for me I can't really shop there when I am a tourist, you need a kitchen, so I have only ever been able to stare longingly at their display window, and follow them on Instagram.
If I lived here I would want to shop here everyday. All prepared foods by Macelleria Angelo Feroci, oven ready, look so expertly created. I wish they had a restaurant to taste all of these things. But this is for locals with home kitchens only. The top picture shows their white Alba truffles artfully under glass to maintain their aroma and the bottom picture is their fresh porcini mushrooms straight from the field.
